Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Elk Grove Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, the information visible to us is the content of your message, and it is used to respond to that request.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service records ordinary server-log details such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those records may be reviewed in aggregate to keep the pages working and understand which Elk Grove resources receive attention. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Elk Grove Directory Uses Data
The limited data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvements. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual-user profiles are not built from this information.
Links to Records Sources
The reference pages connect to Sacramento County and California portals, Elk Grove municipal records, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy policy of the destination, rather than this one, governs information submitted there. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000, applies to qualifying state and local agency records requests, not to the private service's server logs.
Who Processes Site Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while they support the pages. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is not shared beyond the purposes stated here.
Security and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Server logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above require. Because the Elk Grove directory pages have no accounts, this service does not create a password record or user profile that could be exposed here.
People Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor may have sent information to the contact route, notify us so the material can be reviewed and deleted.
California Privacy Choices
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), appears in Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq. Where those laws apply, an eligible consumer may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal data held by a covered business and to opt out of sale or sharing. Because this service keeps very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs for information that can be found and removed.
Use the Contact page for a request about data held by this service. A public-record request is different: Sacramento County and Elk Grove agencies control their own records under the California Public Records Act. Vital-record eligibility remains governed by Health & Safety Code §§103526 and 103526.5, and confidential marriage records remain restricted by Family Code §509. Safe at Home provides a substitute mailing address and confidential mail-forwarding for qualifying participants; a private-site request cannot expose or remove a protected government record.
Policy Updates
Changes to this policy will be posted here. Continued use of the Elk Grove reference pages after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
